The company was founded by Christopher Weaver in 1986 as a division of Media Technology Limited, and in 1999 became a subsidiary of ZeniMax Media. In its first fifteen years, it was a video game developer and self-published its titles. In 2001, Bethesda spun off its own in-house development team into Bethesda

"The company has gone downhill. There is high turnover of upper management which leads to no ongoing support systems. There is no respect from upper management. The upper management doesn’t adhere to annual performance evaluations, have any plan for annual increases or offer any performance incentives. There is no oversight from the Board of Governors. The upper management are highly paid and hardly supervised. They are not present and most live in areas where there isn’t even a facility. The company claims to be Christian yet the behavior there is anything but. "I loved working with the people we supported, however this company is money hungry and don't care for the clients. They over work you and leave you on shift without any coverage. They fire people when they go over the bosses head for answers or help. I've worked for them for 8 years and they really shown me I mean nothing to them. I stayed so long because the individual/ clients need support and honestly nobody will offer any to them. It's sad and this company is a disappointment. This is why they can't keep staff.The individuals we support are amazing people.The upper management is rude and lies on people to cover their own actions, They don't care about staff or supported people, They don't offer pay raises"

"If you have a social life say good bye to it. This company except you to throw away your life and be at their becking call all the time. Management and HR like to bend and tweak things for their convenience and when questioned about it they threaten your job Security. They barely do the bare minimum for their clients, just enough to keep funding. This is a miserable place to work. Not to mention the pay is bogus. They pay you minimum wage, with so called “raises” and absolutely no bonuses for those that actually do their job. Management then wonders why people go looking for new jobs and leave. God forbid new staff is needed it takes months to get any new staff. I highly do not recommend this company to anyone. It’s not worth it.NoneManagement"

"The best part of my job was the individuals. I loved them and miss them greatly. There home didn't feel like a home it felt like a large corporation. The supervisors are terrible. There is no communication. They will fire for no reason (you won't even see it coming). The supervisors definitely play favorites. There is a large turn over rate here for a reason. DON'T WORK HERE!!!!! They start you off at $10.70 an hour. Overworked underpaid."

"If I could give management zero stars I would, I love the individuals, but management makes work life miserable. They do not take staff nor the individuals into consideration. They do the bare minimum just to keep state funding. If you enjoy being underpaid, treated unfairly, working for gossiping managers and under appreciated, Bethesda is the place for you"

"I absolutely loved the individuals I got to work with every day. They were probably the only reason I stayed with the company for so many years. I had a zero-status position and was constantly called to work shifts. I ended up working way more than full time employees, sometimes 60+ hr work weeks including 16 hr shifts (without breaks). Yet, I was NEVER eligible for health insurance or any benefits. I drove an hour to work and did not get compensated for mileage or gas. In three years my pay only increased by a dollar. There is NO room for advancement. You are constantly asked to do favors with no reward or appreciation. You will be taken advantage of and you will end up exhausted mentally and physically. Management and nurses will be condescending and not respect you. The company does not have the individuals at best interest, no matter what they preach. Bethesda will keep around terrible employees and eventually lose those that actually care."

"Management sucked when it came to concerns in work hours or if you had questions they didn’t care much to train. If problems occurred at work there was no management to help solve them. Also a lot of staff liked to cause problems so avoiding it all and staying away is all someone can do. Except being around it all wasn’t a good environment so I had to leave. Also when I got hurt on the job and got work compensation it felt like 95% of the time they were trying to get me fired after I came back it wasn’t a good work environment to be at.NothingCan’t leave for lunch/ horrible management"
